- 3D LiDAR and five cameras A 3D LiDAR works alongside an interactive RGB camera, a front stereo RGB pair, a rear RGB camera and an RGB-D camera.
- 30 degrees of freedom Seven-joint arms, a three-axis waist and six-joint legs give it five more degrees of freedom than the Master Edu, hands excluded.
- 4G/5G and VR teleoperation Cellular connectivity and VR remote manipulation, with additional accessories, let an operator work the robot from a distance.
- Swappable 500 Wh battery Each pack gives about two hours of walking and charges in 1.5 hours or less, with an optional automatic charging dock.
- Ports for expansion Two USB-A, two USB-C and two RJ45 Ethernet ports plus a Mini DisplayPort connect external sensors, networks and screens.
Description
The FF Master Ultra is the development edition of Faraday Future's FF Master, a 131 cm humanoid for research, teaching and interactive service. Where the Master Edu is set up for teaching and interaction, the Ultra is the edition you build on: it adds onboard AI compute, a 3D LiDAR, a multi-camera suite, cellular connectivity and an open SDK, and weighs 39 kg as a result.
Its 30 degrees of freedom, excluding the hands, are split as one at the neck, seven in each arm, three at the waist and six in each leg. Peak joint torque is 120 N·m, top speed 1.8 m/s and payload up to 3 kg, with a motion positioning accuracy of 5 mm under lab conditions. The frame combines magnesium and aluminium alloys with engineering plastics and polyurethane, and the body is designed for interchangeable dexterous hands; which hands come with your unit is confirmed at quote.
Perception and compute are what separate it from the Edu. An NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16 GB module rated at 157 TOPS runs on board, fed by a 3D LiDAR, an interactive RGB camera, a front stereo RGB pair, a rear RGB camera and an RGB-D camera, plus a 6-axis IMU and a head touch sensor. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G/5G are built in, and VR remote manipulation works with additional accessories. Developers get an SDK with standardised APIs on Ubuntu 22.04, visual programming with Python, and the Openclaw no-code tool.
Power comes from a swappable battery of about 500 Wh, rated for roughly two hours of walking and recharged in 1.5 hours or less; an automatic charging dock is optional. Faraday Future lists a mobile app, facial recognition, custom knowledge bases, motion remixing and video-to-motion as in development for later over-the-air release, so plan a project around the current feature set.
