The Unitree B2 Navigation Kit (Basic) is a sensor-and-compute add-on that brings autonomous navigation capability to the Unitree B2 quadruped platform. It combines navigation-grade sensing hardware with an onboard computing module and navigation software, enabling the robot to perform mapping, localization, obstacle awareness, and path planning in controlled environments. At its core is a 32-wire automotive-grade LiDAR that produces a 3D point cloud of nearby objects and surfaces for obstacle detection, terrain understanding, and SLAM, paired with an Intel Core i7 computing board that runs the included basic navigation algorithms and turns raw sensor data into high-level movement decisions.

Supplied as a hardware-and-software kit with a protective bracket and a customized cable set for rigid mounting and reliable cable routing on the B2, the Basic kit is aimed at scientific research and demonstration scenarios rather than turnkey deployment. It includes a navigation algorithm and SDK plus online technical support and training, while on-site implementation service is excluded — the customer's engineering team handles environment tuning, mission setup, and application-layer development. This makes it a practical foundation for robotics labs exploring SLAM, autonomous navigation, obstacle-avoidance logic, and repeatable route execution. The kit is marketed primarily for the B2 and is also described as compatible with the B2-W.
